Reef ATCs

I've been having a blast participating in the monthly ATC swap hosted by club member, Lynn L, on the Club Scrap Chat Facebook Group.

I enjoy the challenge of creating 2.5x3.5" works of art inspired by one of Club Scrap's monthly kit themes. It's similar to designing a card, but in miniature.

The ATCs below were created featuring Club Scrap's April 2024 Reef collection. (The swap requires we make nine ATCs for trading.) I usually create my Artist Trading Cards with the monthly stamp sheet and Pack of Panels.

To recreate my design, follow the steps below.
  1. Pick up color from the tip of a Distress Crayon with a water brush; apply to a White panel. Repeat with colors that coordinate with the Reef color palette until you're satisfied with the results. (I used Winter Forest, Shiny Bauble, and Merry Mint.)
  2. Trim the White to 2-1/4 x 3-1/4".
  3. Place the 2-1/4 x 3-1/4" panel into a stamping platform. Position the "beauty" sentiment onto the bottom half. Close the lid to pick up the stamp. Open the lid and ink the surface with India ink. Close the lid to transfer the sentiment. Repeat as needed to achieve a crisp impression.
  4. Once the sentiment has been added, dip the water brush into blue watercolor crayon and tap over the surface of the panel to create a speckled effect.
  5. Use a craft knife and cutting mat to cut an angled slit above the sentiment.
  6. Adhere a laser cut shell to the stamped panel, tucking the bottom edge into the slit.
  7. Mat with a 2-3/8 x 3-3/8" Aqua panel.
  8. Mat again with a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2" Gold.
  9. Repeat the steps above to create eight additional ATCs.

I'm pretty happy with the results. I look forward to seeing what others' have created after the swap is complete.

Until next time, happy crafting!
