Say Cheese Layout

I try to make an effort to trim and assemble each Club Scrap special release kit shortly after I receive it. I may not always have immediate plans for the assembled pages, so I put the "nekkid" layouts in page protectors and into a D-Ring album I label "blanks".

When I have free time to scrap, I grab a stack of photos and flip through the albums containing nekkid pages. If I find pages that coordinate or match the color palette, I place the photos over the mats (while still in the protectors) to take the combo for a test drive. If everything works, I remove the pages from the protectors, crop the photos and adhere them, adding journaling when appropriate.

I recently did this with a batch of photos featuring my friend, Oliver, and his family. In addition to six Luminary layouts, I scrapped a two-page spread with Club Scrap's 2021 Say Cheese collection using this method. While the Say Cheese Page Kit is no longer available for purchase, I thought my completed pages might offer inspiration when completing similar kits.

This layout features photos of Oliver and his family from a visit to The Melting Pot restaurant. The restaurant is well known in the area for it's fondue dinners, and these "cheesy" photos from the evening are a perfect match for these pages.

A bit of craft knife magic on the 'Say Cheese" cutpart allows the camera image to remain in the foreground. I've left the journaling blank so Mom can fill in the details later on.

I hope my tips for working with assembled pages inspires you. Even if you need to make small changes to work with your photos, it's a huge time-saver!

Happy crafting!
