Hogwarts Express on Orient Express

Back in September 2011, Club Scrap created a kit called Orient Express. It turns out the colors and theme were ideal for some of the photos from our Florida trip last summer.

While at Universal Studios Orlando, we spent a lot of time in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter parks. There are two separate parks at Universal, and each has a "land" dedicated to Harry Potter. The Hogwarts Express ride transports you from one park to the other.

There were so many fun props to enjoy while in line for the ride, I could't resist taking tons of pictures. The ride itself was very realistic and interactive--I guess you could say it was "magical".

Well, I'm off to do more scrappin'. Thanks for tagging along!

More pages from our Florida album.

I'm pleased to report I've finished a few more pages from our trip to Universal Studios Orlando last summer. We spent a good chunk of our three-day pass time exploring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme parks because we are crazy big fans.

London Calling Deluxe Layout 1-2
My favorite ride was Escape from Gringotts. Not only was the ride itself amazing, but there was so much to see and enjoy while waiting in line. You don't even realize an hour or more has passed when there's so much to look at! The goblins in the bank lobby were animatronic and scarily life-like.

Just outside the entrance to the Diagon Alley part of the park, there's a replica of the Knight Bus parked outside 12 Grimmauld Place. The line for photos with Stan was super long, so I just snapped a few from a distance. The pics are perfect on these London Calling Deluxe pages from Club Scrap. I even tinted the double-decker bus image purple to match! (Can you see Kreacher peeking out the window?)

Bookshelves Deluxe Layout 3-4
We enjoyed several meals at the Leaky Cauldron restaurant during our stay. Club Scrap's Bookshelves papers coordinate well with these pics.

I'm so excited to be making progress on this album. Thanks for coming along for the ride.

Happy scrapping!

Harry Potter meets London Calling Lite

Last summer our family drove to Florida to visit Universal Studios Orlando. It was a trip my oldest wanted to do for his high school graduation.

We're big Harry Potter fans, so naturally the Wizarding World of Harry Potter parks were a huge draw. Club Scrap's February 2015 London Calling theme was a great match for photos. Here I used London Calling Lite pages to document some of our adventures.

Assorted photos from Knockturn Alley.

Here are photos from Kings Cross Station, the dragon on top of the Escape from Gringotts ride, as well as pics of assorted shop windows in Diagon Alley.

We had a blast taking pics of the kids in the British-style phone booth outside Kings Cross Station.

At least I have a start on my Florida trip album now. Only 300+ pictures to go...

A sucker for succulents.

A few weeks ago, I saw a set of planters I couldn't resist on a deal a day website, Decor Steals. The set had two sizes. The smaller planter holds a faux olive tree in my living room, but the larger one has remained empty waiting for just the right contents.

The weather in Wisconsin can be unpredictable, so even though "spring has sprung", it's usually best to wait until after Mother's Day to put annuals outside without the risk of frost.

I was in Home Depot yesterday with a friend who showed me the assortment of succulents they had for sale. Well, let's just say I'm a sucker for succulents! I picked up four plants in different shapes and sizes.

Once I got home, it struck me those succulents might look nice in the larger planter--I was right.

Of course browsing the garden center yesterday now has me itchin' to buy and pot up more plants for my yard.

Nature photos on Adirondacks Deluxe pages.

Club Scrap's Adirondacks Deluxe kit was just released on May 1.

I'm so proud of myself--here it's only May 5 and I've got twelve pages done already! I assembled my pages ALSB-style and added Dad's nature pics. Half of the pages are shared on the Club Scrap blog, and I have six more to share below.

The little kraft envelopes are sized to hold the journaling cutaparts. Scenic photos from Dad's daily walkabout in the park pair well with these sentiments.

I love the arrows on the stencil. Along with the words, they add that perfect little sumthin' sumthin' to the pages. This owl family is living in our local park. Dad got some great shots, including those fuzzy little "babies". Aren't they the cutest?

The bronze frames are great accents, and Dad's eagle photos are ideal on this spread.

Club Scrap's Adirondacks collection is a must-have for scrapping photos of nature, outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting...well, you get the idea.
