Create a Podium Book for the nature lover.
The Podium Book project is an excellent way to preserve and display memories from a vacation or other special occasion. This clever handmade book features a built-in easel, and it's designed to be made using any Club Scrap Page Kit when paired with the project components.
Allow the mats and other embellishments extend slightly beyond the margins of each inside page. (Just make sure nothing extends beyond the front and back covers when the book is closed.)
In lieu of a Page Kit, another option is to gather a minimum of twelve coordinating papers from your stash. Either way, the first step is to purchase/download the instructions. Assign paper substitutions as desired, then follow the trimming and assembly guidelines. Trim additional papers for use as mats and other decorative elements throughout the book.
For this album, I chose papers that coordinated with a set of Cutaparts from Club Scrap's now-extinct Pacific Northwest collection. The colors and artwork create the perfect backdrop for my dad's nature photos. (You can see more of his awesome photography on his Facebook Page: Michael's Walkabout.)
The finished album includes 32 inside pages with a unique binding. The book structure offers lots of flexibility when it comes to placement of photo mats and other embellishments.
Decorate the inside front cover with a Cutapart sentiment topped with ribbon. Trim a photo to fit the Cutapart sentiment on the title page. Washi tape creatively conceals any imperfections that might occur when wrapping the book covers.

Trim Cutapart border strips to 6" to fit the inside pages.
The book is further embellished with a variety of ribbons and other goodies from my personal stash.
A couple of quick snips with scissors transforms paper scraps into decorative banner shapes.
A mini coin envelope becomes a handy pocket for a tag topped with ribbon.
Finally, a journaling Cutapart with a hand-written "dedication" creates the perfect ending for the album.
