Four Double Block Christmas Cards
Make four cards with Club Scrap's new Double Block Card Formula.
This formula is available on their blog as a free download—how awesome is that?!?
To replicate my cards, use the following paper assignments (from the Boughs of Joy collection, unless otherwise noted):
- Paper A = Red
- Paper B = Blue
- Paper C = White Plain (Toile collection)
- Paper D = Duplex Print
You'll also need:
- Boughs of Joy Stamps
- (4) A2 Envelopes
Follow the trimming, scoring and assembly instructions on the printable formula download. Deal out and dry fit the trimmed pieces. Once you're satisfied with the arrangement, adhere everything into place. Finally, add stamped sentiments and embellishments.
I shamelessly copied the cards my friend Julie recently shared on the blog. Normally, a text weight print wouldn't be ideal for this formula, as the prints become card bases. But in this case, Paper A and B are plains; as Paper D, the Duplex Print becomes card panels instead.
In order to showcase the versatility of the Duplex Print, I featured the "blue" side of the trimmed panels on two cards...
...and the "gold" side on the other two.
Add texture to each 2-1/8x4-3/4" panel with an embossing folder (Spellbinders). Add the sentiment with Red CS Hybrid ink to each 1x2-7/8" White panel. Accent with the small pine sprig image and Spruce ink. Decorate the inside of each card with strips left over from the trimming process and add an inner sentiment, if desired.
I hope you'll give the Double Block Card Formula a try! You can download your copy, plus a video tutorial, by entering your email when prompted at this blog link.
Happy crafting!
